The Wysocki Produce Farm’s operation shop is filled with irrigation techs, mechanics and operators. This group, along with a few others who are not shown, is why we will be ready for spring! Operating and maintaining our equipment year-round is no easy task, every piece of equipment is assessed and repaired to make sure it is in tip top shape for sprint planting. From the engines that move them to the nuts and bolts that hold everything together, nothing is overlooked.
At Wysocki Family of Companies we are committed to supplying our customers with responsibly produced goods through a holistic approach to farming. We scientifically assess our potatoes from seed to shelf to ensure the most efficient use of natural resources. For example through soil and plant tissue analysis combined with accurate weather station data, we are able to apply only the necessary amounts of water and nutrients needed to produce a crop.
In an effort to reduce our reliance on synthetic chemicals, we participate in the Healthy Grown Program created by the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association. This program connects farmers and university researchers to create Integrated Pest Management programs (IPMs) that rely on natural pest management strategies and reduce the use of pesticides.
Interview with Lucas Wysocki
One of the nation’s premier potato and vegetable operations, Wysocki Produce Farm of Bancroft, Wisconsin, is an integral part of Wysocki Family of Companies, which also consists of RPE, Inc., Paragon Potato Farms, and as co-owners and partners, Tasteful Selections, LLC and Central Sands Dairy.
A family operation now in its second and third generations, Wysocki Produce Farm had its start when brothers Louis, Francis and Greg Wysocki partnered with their father on his small dairy farm and converted the operation into a potato growing business in the 1950s.
Over the years, crucial partnerships were formed with Nick and Dianne Somers of Plover River Farms and Jeff Sommers, who worked alongside the owners to propel the farm into a nationally renowned operation. The Wysocki Family of Companies (WFC) ownership group consists of Russell, Jim, Gary and Bill Wysocki, Kirk Wille and Sommers.
